Boohaaa

Just some words…to those of you who haven’t found out personally, alhamdulillah, Damascus University accepted me into their program and i’m really enjoying the studies – its such a diverse environment, its really cool, i’ve got a class with about four Korean girls who don’t cease to amaze me with their advanced arabic, especially when they throw a specific word my way, that I have no idea about in arabic…and that happens quite often actually.. and we’ve got a really cool American (I know it’s rarity, but nothings impossible in this world :P) whose arabic is impeccable. It’s really interesting, we have all sorts of interesting discussions of course all in classical arabic (which I completely suck at) about terrorism (all eyes on me, nah just kidding :P, but can’t help but feel people are always trying to gauge if you’re the terr0rist muslim or not so soo as they hear/see you are muslim but, can’t blame em can i?) the only terror coming out of my mouth is when i try to speak in classical arabic and butcher it with lengthy stutters and stammers ... but all in all, i am improving alhamdulillah.. ah and go figure, the marriage topic doesn’t seem to want to leave me in this university! lol, first someone asked if I was married because I was wearing a religious ring :P muhahah to which I answered with a very inviting, no :P and then we had an entire lesson where we discussed the topic, …of men and women today, nature of relationships, promiscuity and of course marriage…

Anyway whats important is,

Fursa sa’eeeda to you all aahah

the crib here is really cool too alhamdulillah, very clean, somewhat spacious, and very hommy (that’s right homie), all in all, its all going pretty well, with exception to some really painful, possible food-poisoning episodes (couldn’t say I wasn’t warned about it though) …it’s all good alhamdulillah. I’m back to my training routine as well, haha, its sooo built into me, I feel something is lacking unless I’m throwing punches and kicks and picking up metal :P i’ve added swimming to the tab as well … but that all depends on how much of the much desired time i’ll have left to do all this.

But man, things run so differently here hahah, but lol, I’ll leave that for another post…

As much as I hate –me me me- posts, i thought id let yall know how its all coming..

Peace

Assalamo Alaykom

Beautiful al7amdulillah..Glad to hear those good news. Perhaps from now on you should post in classical Arabic, every other post of yours.

As for the Korean and the American speaking perfect classical Arabic, I know how it feels listening to them. I still remember when I heard an American speaking in such a fluent, beautiful, well structured fus7a. It is astonishing yet very encouraging for Arabs with a lower Arabic/fus7a language, to learn and to end up like those great people. Count yourself lucky brother M.H for having this opportunity, I wish we had the same school (a school specified to teach proper Arabic) in the west. Alas, self-education is the substitute…So since you're being envied (at least by me) for this, right now, try your best to use this opportunity to its max. Really, it deserves your full effort, though I'm more than sure that you don’t need any reminder.

As for the marriage topic coming over and over, well.. do expect it to pop up very often until the day you do get married..Best wishes.

Syria, hmm all people, I know, who have been there say almost the same(i.e.,. beautiful life etc),including the food-poisoning expectation at every meal you're served. But it's okay, I mean sometimes you have to sacrifice some things for others(you're still getting fus7a schooling and ziyara/visit to Sayeda Zaynab and Sayeda Ruqaya, peace be upon them).

Fus7a sa'eeda to you too.

Heya,
ahah 'Still alive I see..' lilacs you speak as if you want me dead :P i should hope not though, really, it doesn't suit you, its too abrasive, it would spoil the soft-affectionate image i have of you :P (now who's dripping with sarcasm? haha)

and leave the koreans alone :) i have to extend a show of respect, really--and i asked them, ...why would anyone, aside from Muslims seeking to understand the canonical sources, want to learn such a troubling language...they had to take second and recollect why they were studying such a language... heh, oddly enough they said they would be one of very few specialits in the language at their country and well, yes, i suppose thats got to be rewarding...maybe to help broker nuclear arms deals with some of the middle eastern countries :P (bah, they are from South Korea anyway..peaceful folk :P)

as for my martial arts skills, yes...i'm still working on the flying part --- but i'll have you know, i've learnt how to throw ppl from great heights and help them fly :P such a philanthropic no?

Brother/Sister H.H.

thank you for the kind words :) yeah, it is encouraging to have total non-Arabs speak Arabic with such command...but thanks for the reminder nonetheless -- i do intend to make the most of it, and also with your much appreciated prayers, i might actually succeed in this :) God-willing. eheh,

Mubarak alikum al-shahr :)
lol and fusha saeeeda to you too ahah

P.S. ..H.H... you remind me alooot of a dear friend of mine, and my gut feeling is that if you are a sister, you are either married to him or something.... haha, lol, so much semblance in the way you speak/think... but err, its a wiiiiiiild guess eheh but someetimes those gut feelings actualy go somewhere...so i intend to find out haha, ..i'll ask him next time i get a chance to speak/chat with him. :)
